Do
you have a dealer in my area?

How
long will it take for my order to arrive?
Orders can usually be despatched the day
after we receive payment, often orders can be shipped same day.
Delivery is by UPS Ground which takes 1-5
days depending on your location. If you place your order by
phone you
can ask the Bikelug representative to confirm availability and
guarantee your delivery date.
We try to maintain some inventory and all times but demand fluctuates
and occasionally we might be out of stock of
an item, if that's the case you'll be notified so you can decide
whether to proceed with the order. We don't charge customers credit cards until the order is ready to ship.

Can I load the
trailer by myself?
The optional automatic
front wheel chock can be used to hold the bike in position while the
straps are fitted or removed allowing single person operation. However,
for personal safety we recommend that you have some help available when
loading a motorcycle onto any trailer or truck.

How do I strap the
bike down to the trailer?
Fixing points for straps are located on a tie-down bar at the front of
the trailer and at each end of the axle.
Additional fixing points are provided along the length of the
trailer.

Does the trailer have suspension?
Independent suspension is available as an option, please see our how to order page
for
prices

Can the trailer take my bike?
Please see the specifications
page for full details. The Bikelug trailer can accept the
vast majority of production motorcycles. Typically any bike up to 900
lbs and up to 70" wheelbase will fit, slightly longer bikes can
sometimes be carried subject to weight restrictions, contact us
for advice.
Our unique wide V-shaped support channel can accept a range of tire
sizes
without adjustment, the V shape of the support channel centers the bike
and prevents the wheels moving from side to side. Our current
models can accommodate up to a 260 section rear tire and a 200
section front tire.
Many motorcycle manufacturers quote 'dry' weights, in this case you
need to add the weight of fuel, luggage and accessories to determine
the overall weight.

Can I return the trailer if it isn't
suitable?
Yes, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase, if not
call us within 7 days of reciept of the trailer and you can arrange to
return it for any reason. If you return the trailer and any accessories
to us in the original condition & packing we'll refund the full
purchase price of the trailer and accessories, we can't refund the
delivery charges.
If the trailer has been used, scratched or badly packed so we receive
it in poor condition we reserve the right to charge for the damaged
parts, good packaging is crucial and we recommend you purchase
insurance from the carrier when returning goods.

What size are the wheels and tires ?
All our trailers are fitted with either 8" or 12" 6-ply C-rated tires.
The 8" tires are rated for up to 745 lbs each at 87mph, the 12" tires
are rated for up to 1045 lbs each at 87 mph (always obey posted speed
limits). Please see our specifications
page for more information.

Aren't
the wheels and tires too small for highway use?
No,
both the 8" and 12" wheels and tires are rated for highway speeds, the
overall diameter of the tires are about 18 inches and 22 inches
respectively. We only use high capacity C-rated 6-ply tires. Remember
small wheel size is a real benefit when storing a portable trailer and if
necessary larger wheel and tires could be fitted for special
applications.

Does the trailer need to be registered?
This varies from state to state, we supply all the necessary
documentation for you to register the trailer if this is required in
your region. Your local DMV will be able to provide more detailed
information.

Why don't you accept Paypal for
payment on ebay listings?
Our primary concern is security, ours and yours, type paypal
security
problem into Google (or any other search engine)
and you'll understand.
By purchasing from us directly with your credit or debit card (just like any
other transaction) you'll be protected by your card issuer and we'll be
better protected from fraudulent or stolen cards.

I saw a trailer similar to yours
from another manufacturer, is it the same?
No, as far as we're aware our product is unique in the USA for its
innovative design, materials & ease of use. Bikelug UK
manufactures a similar product to ours for sale in the UK.
There are many examples of folding or easily disassembled motorcycle
trailers on the market and examples of such devices can be traced back
more than 30 years, however, our trailer has important and unique
design innovations which we believe give significant benefits
over
what's been available before.
While most manufacturers make trailers from commercial grade 'building'
materials we make extensive use of HSLA steels (high strength low alloy
steels), these materials were developed for the automotive
industry specifically to increase strength & reduce weight
which makes them ideal for a lightweight trailer. HSLA steels also give
improved corrosion resistance.
The design of the unique Bikelug folding V shaped main trailer beam was
developed using the latest 3d solid modelling techniques and finite
element analysis. This level of design optimization allows us to
produce a one-piece fold-up design which is strong enough to carry the
load yet still light enough to lift into a car.
Finally our product was carefully designed from the outset for volume
production, parts are laser cut for precision and pressed using modern
computerized machine tools. Attention to detail at the production
engineering stage has allowed us to offer a product we believe is far
superior to the competition but within the same price range.
